Founder and Executive Director

Offering more than 35 years of service in diverse professional and clinical arenas as a licensed clinician, clinical coordinator, assistant professor, fire captain, training officer and EMS coordinator, internet CEO and founder of several international organizations. Tom has expanded the field of knowledge in cognitive function through clinical developments related to cognitive brain processing, founding theories of consciousness theory and optimal processing for the reexamination of our understanding and management of knowledge and leadership.

Tom has provided advanced clinical services as a private practitioner, rehabilitation agency, and corporation. As an educator, Tom has served as an assistant professor and taught university courses, of which some include anatomy and physiology, diagnostic methods, swallowing disorders, cognitive disorders, clinical practicum, and issues in professionalism. He directed a special project to facilitate a cooperative venture between a major regional medical center and university to build a new medical speech and hearing clinic extending the university medical building to be staffed by the university clinical program and used as an educational clinical facility for the university students. Provided oversight for the design and construction of the new building and director of clinic. Working 10 years for the State of California, Department of Veterans Affairs with experience as Clinical Coordinator overseeing the development of a post acute rehabilitation unit. Experience spanned from writing a successful State Budget Change Proposal (BCP) to directing the fully operational unit including clinical oversight of clinical services in Rehabilitation including Audiology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology and Swallowing Disorders. His experience includes the writing of a formal state finance proposal in reengineering healthcare for budget presentation. In his work with cognitive rehabilitation, Tom has developed diagnostic tools to identify cognitive dysfunction in the areas of attention, orientation, memory, reasoning, thought organization, problem solving, and executive functions. 

Professional service includes more than 20 years of fire service affiliations
 with departments in southern and northern California as well as southwestern Michigan. Tom is a retired Fire Captain, Truck Officer, Training Officer and EMS Coordinator. Upon retirement, he served as fire photographer for local city and county fire departments. He covered incidents and training and also worked as a Press Photographer with a weekly fire photography section in the local newspaper. Founder of an international fire photography organization processing more than 10,000 members from all 50 US States and more than 50 countries. Also, Founder and CEO of an early internet start-up corporation at the advent of the World-Wide-Web during the initial internet boom of dot-com’s sustaining efforts five years past the internet bubble.

Tom has written in areas of cognition, consciousness theory, knowledge, and leadership. He has received honors from multiple who’s who organizations and presented employee, superior, and sustained superior accomplishment awards from the State of California. He has been voted as Firefighter of the Year and, upon retirement, was voted an Honorary Firefighter for life. Tom has been commended on an exemplary record of public leadership and community service through Senate Resolution with the State of California, and in recognition of outstanding and invaluable service to the community and dedication to public safety was provided the Certificate of Congressional Recognition by the United States Congress.
